OUR ICKY FROG DISSECTION

So we had our first frog dissection in Biology class yesterday (Thursday).. and hey, not to mention, after that almost everyone in our class felt sooo sick.

At first I was excited, then I got a little scared. I had a lot of mixed emotions in me. Our Biology teacher (and adviser) told us that we were gonna dissect a frog.. but hey, I didn't know that we were gonna dissect it.. ermm.. alive. So hey, you know how I felt! I'm an animal lover, what do you expect? But hey, that's what our teacher has told us to do so hey, even if a lot of people saw it as animal cruelty, I can't do anything to prevent that shit from happening. My Biology teacher will kill me if ever I would have some PETA stuff going on in there.

So Biology was the first class that we're supposed to attend in the morning. And yes, umagang-umaga pa nun, you know how people are during the morning. They go like, "YAAAWWNN" and they tend to forget stuff that they're supposed to do. Not to mention isa ako sa mga yun. So we went to the science lab, I have put my gloves on and then grabbed some lab suit from someones table because I was afraid to get some of the frog's blood all over me. HELLO?! Umaga yun eh. I don't wanna roam around our school looking like I've just been from some slaughter house you know.

So I was there na.. and hey, there was no turning back.

When I went there I got a seat beside my groupmate Mikko and I also saw the frog in the jar in front of her.. so I asked her, "Mikko, is that our frog?".. then she answered, "Hindi to, ayun oh.." So she pointed to the jar at my left side. I was like, "HALA?! PAKSHET YAN BA YUN?!". It was one hell of a frog, it was soo big that I almost mistook it for a bullfrog. I was like, "Okay-okay, so this one is the frog that I'm gonna dissect huh?" I was already shaking! Well, not because I was afraid of frogs (I was never afraid of them, and btw, why should I be? Animal lover nga eh) but hey, I was afraid to kill that poor frog. So.. our Biology teacher said it was about time to take our frogs out of their jars and what the hell, almost all of my groupmates went away from me and backed off from the frog. So I was the only one left there, I was facing the frog.. I was like, "Ayos kayo ah!" Hahaha.. But hey, I didn't want to be the one who's gonna take it out of the jar because my gloves were sooo loose and I was afraid to get some of those frog poop on my hands so I called my classmate Charles here to do it for me.

So he took it out of the jar.

The frog struggled like crazy and now I became scared.. scared that those frog poop might get on me. So I backed off. And hey, the whole lab smelled like hell. I was like, "Ano ba naman yan!!! Bakit naman kasi may tubig-kanal pa yang jar eh. Bwisit!" Samahan pa ng frog poop kadiri talaga. But hey, the happenings after that one was mooore icky.

So ayun na, the other girls in my group had gloves naman but I was still wondering on why they wouldn't want to work on the frog! Haha. Okay-okay so they were scared, yeah right. So I was the only girl left there and hey, the frog was struggling right? So I had my guy groupmates paralyze it and after that, I asked them to help me pin the frog to the so-called frog operating pan. Lol. That's what we call it. After that, my groupmates were looking at me and they were like, "Ano na?" Haha, so hey, the stuff that I have watched on YouTube helped. So we skinned the frog. Then we got its organs out and oh my gawd, it's still breathing! So ayun na, my girl groupmates had took over taking the excess skin off from the frog so I went down to the girls comfort room and washed my hands.

And then I went back to the lab.

They were finished na pala. So the last thing that our group's gonna do is put the poor frog back in its jar and pour some formaldehyde on it to prevent it from decaying. Eh hindi pa pala natatanggal nung ka-group ko yung pins dun sa frog.. no choice, ako nalang ang naiwang ka-group niya dun eh, so I helped her. Take note, I wasn't wearing gloves at that time anymore and yet I still took off the pins, held its feet and helped my groupmate take it off from the pan.

And my hands were all covered up with blood. Icky, right?
At minamalas nga naman ako nung time na yun.. I got some of the
formaldehyde on my hands and damn ang hapdi-hapdi niya sa balat.

Not to mention after that we had our Math class and then we have been dismissed for recess. All I ate was a cassava cake and hey, it was also soft and same with the frog.. sticky.

Oh gawd ayoko na ng cassava!!! Phhhbbbttt!!!
